Grønhøj
Grønhøj is beautifully located between the popular holiday towns of Blokhus and Løkken, offering both stunning natural surroundings and a wide, welcoming sandy beach. The area features a large holiday home zone, a local ice cream shop, a holiday center with a grocery store and café, as well as several campgrounds.
The beach at Grønhøj is among the widest in Denmark, with plenty of space – even on the sunniest days during peak season. Behind the beach, you’ll find picturesque dunes covered with beach grass, perfect for walks and relaxation. Driving is allowed on the beach, but it’s best to avoid getting too close to the water’s edge, as there may be children, swimmers, and soft sand pits.
Blue Flag Beach
Grønhøj Beach has been awarded the Blue Flag – an international eco-label given to beaches that make a special effort in terms of environmental management, safety, and facilities.
Blokhus
Blokhus is just a 15-minute drive from the holiday home on Karinavej and is a charming seaside town with lots to offer. You’ll find cozy cafés and restaurants, small shops, a seaside hotel with its own restaurant, mini-golf, and more. The town square hosts concerts, farmers’ markets, and various events throughout the summer.
Løkken
Løkken is only a 10-minute drive away and is full of holiday vibes. The town has a wide selection of cafés, restaurants, ice cream shops, stores, and supermarkets. For families with children, the playground at the Market Square is highly recommended – and grabbing an ice cream from one of the local parlors is almost a must.
The town’s square and shopping streets offer a great mix of lifestyle stores, interior design shops, clothing boutiques, and chocolatiers. You’ll find both well-known brands and unique items – perfect for picking up something for your wardrobe, home, or a little sweet treat for later.
The local SuperBrugsen in Løkken is a destination in itself – featuring an excellent bakery, a large delicatessen, a well-stocked wine section, and a beautiful flower display at the entrance. Ideal if you’d like to bring home a fresh bouquet.
Saltum
Saltum is a cozy town with an excellent butcher and a large Meny supermarket – especially known for its tempting delicatessen section, perfect for putting together a delicious lunch. You’ll also find charming local shops, a sportswear outlet, and a beautiful church.
Lønstrup
Lønstrup is a true haven for art and design lovers. The town is filled with galleries and artisan workshops, where you can browse and buy handcrafted items like blown glass, ceramics, and artworks. If you’re looking to treat yourselves, a visit to the renowned Villa Vest restaurant is a must – offering exquisite cuisine with panoramic views of the sea.
