It is important that the lighting in the woodstove is done correctly. Otherwise, large amounts of smoke can easily get into the house when you want to try to “restart” the lighting. It can be very difficult to restart a failed lighting without waiting for it to go completely off so you can start over.

Step 1
Place 2 pieces of firewood in the bottom of the stove and place 3 x 2 fire starter blocks as shown in the picture.
Step 2
Lay two pieces of firewood on top. You need to make sure that there is plenty of air around the wood. As far as possible, make sure the wood will not be laying on the sides of the stove. There must be air around the construction. This also applies when new pieces of wood are added later, place the wood in the middle of the oven.

Light up the fire starter blocks.

Place a fire starter block lengthwise at the bottom of the door so that the door is clamped.
Step 5
Let the stove burn for a long time in this way, it is important that the stove gets very hot before the door closes completely.
Step 6
After some time, approx. 30 min. the fire starter block can be turned. So less air comes in. The fire now calms down more.
Step 7
Let some time pass. Remove the ignition block and turn the air intake all the way to the right. You will find the air intake under the stove. Also, add a new piece of wood at this point.
Step 8
Now, firewood can be added as needed. When the stove is opened, do it quietly, so that the pressure is equalized and a lot of smoke is not drawn out into the house.
In general
After some time, the new piece of firewood should catch fire. If this doesn’t happen, you can take the lighter and light it again. Hold the flame from the lighter close to the firewood, it should catch fire. Or else, place a fire starter block close to the wood and light it up. Again place a fire starter block in the door so that air can pass. NOTE, when there is a fire starter block in the door, there must be flames in the stove or a lot of smoke can escape.
